Kill switch, adding the whole group at once, a version notice and a safer sync

Since v1.20261026.1 – /ch safe switches everything optional off when things go wrong, you add the group with one command, the addon tells you when someone has a newer version, and the sync reaches everyone and keeps private things in the group.

The biggest update before the launch. It comes out of the big check: the website and the addon were reviewed end to end, and whatever had to go in before November 4 is in now. Everything is in v1.20261026.1. Anything marked (not tested in the game yet) is fully built, but you are the first to try it.

Kill switch: `/ch safe` (not tested in the game yet)

If the addon throws errors on launch night, you don't have to hunt for thirty switches. `/ch safe` switches everything optional off at once; only sync, export, import and diagnostics keep running. `/ch safe off` restores everything exactly as it was, even after a `/reload`. Nothing is deleted.

Adding the whole group at once (not tested in the game yet)

Instead of adding every name on its own, you can now do it in one go, surnames included:

`/ch roster add Name1, Name2, Name3, Name4`

Or right in the Group tab, in the "Add member" tile. The addon tells you who is new, who was already there and which name doesn't fit, then syncs right away. Also, `/ch help` now lists every command, and a typo gets a hint instead of the whole list.

Notice about newer versions

If someone in the group runs a newer addon version than you, the addon tells you once in the chat and at the bottom of the window. Members with an older one get a small note in the Group tab. It is on by default, so the person who needs it actually sees it. Each part can be switched off.

A sync that reaches everyone and protects private things

  • In stages: the sync goes through the guild, then to members in your group who are not in the guild, and finally by whisper to the rest. That way an alt outside the guild gets everything too.
  • Private things stay in the group: ratings only go to you by whisper, never through guild or group chat. Group data like goals, journal, orders and AH prices only go through the guild while no outsider is online there.
  • Protection against name takeover: the addon remembers which character is behind each name. If a different one with the same name shows up, you get a single notice to confirm or remove it.
  • Sturdier: crafted messages are turned away before they slow your computer down. Members with an old version no longer get a flood of data. Changes held back in a dungeon are no longer lost.

Fixed and improved

  • Travel tab: since the last update it stopped with an error as soon as others had flight points you lack. Fixed.
  • Export with a big journal: the full export included the journal entries of the whole group and became too big for the website. Now only your own go along.
  • Camp: the camp plan knows the materials for 14 more camp objects. According to the game data the Iron Oven needs skill 300.

On the website

  • Links from Discord (dates, weekly recap) now lead straight to their page after the login instead of the start page.
  • A proper error page, "What's new" in the footer, a visible focus while typing and item sources on phones too.
  • The install instructions now name all four folders.
  • The exchange checks pasted texts more strictly. Normal exports from the addon are not affected.

Until the launch

Keep the addon up to date. On launch night we pull the item data from the live client, and a short guide for setting things up on launch day goes to Discord beforehand.
